While using the stick blender to reach an emulsion, we noticed some thickening of parts of the batter but there were still loose oils floating on the surface. We alternated hand stirring with quick bursts of the stick blender. It took several attempts to reach a stable emulsion. The batter was at a medium trace before we felt confident we had reached a successful trace. The batter was very grainy throughout this process. As we poured the batter into the mold, the consistency varied throughout the bowl. There were no loose oils so we felt it was stable enough to mold. After 24 hours, the soap was very soft and a little weepy. We observed only a quarter size area in the center had gelled, and the bars discolored to a dark yellow. After 30 days, the discoloration remained dark yellow, and the scent was very intense. You may prefer a lower usage rate for this oil if you want a lighter scented soap
